Social Behavior Education Center LLC (SBEC) is seeking a dedicated Behavior Therapist with at least one year of experience working with children diagnosed with ASD, ADHD, or other developmental delays. In this role, you will provide 1:1 ABA therapy and assist clinical supervisors in implementing individualized treatment plans for young children. Responsibilities:
Provide direct, 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to individuals with ASD, ADHD, or other neurodevelopmental differences in home, school, or community settings. Implement individualized skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs exactly as designed and directed by the supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Teach communication, social, daily living, and play skills utilizing evidence-based ABA methodologies (e.g., Discrete Trial Training, Naturalistic Environment Teaching). Record objective, accurate, and timely data on client behavior and progress during each session using electronic data collection systems. Complete detailed, objective session notes concurrently with therapy sessions in accordance with insurance requirements and company guidelines. Assist the BCBA with caregiver training by modeling behavioral strategies and providing support to families during designated sessions. Respond appropriately to escalating behaviors by following established behavior intervention plans and safety protocols. Communicate effectively with clients, caregivers, and supervisors while maintaining strict professional boundaries. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and actively participate in clinical meetings, supervision sessions, and ongoing training. Adhere strictly to all HIPAA regulations, ensuring client confidentiality and data security at all times.
Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age or older. Highly energetic, creative, and passionate about teaching children. Possess a valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation. Willing and able to travel up to 25 miles from your residence to provide school or home sessions (public transportation may or may not be available). Active auto insurance or the ability to obtain it. Available to work afternoon shifts for at least 12-20 hours per week. Able to pass a criminal background check, TB test, and Pre-employment Physical Exam, as well as provide proof of (or receive) immunities to MMR/VZV during onboarding. Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Qualifications:
At least one year of paid or unpaid experience working with children in Special Education, Paraprofessional roles, Preschool/Elementary Teaching or Assisting, After School Programs, Tutoring, Youth Coaching, Substitute Teaching, Healthcare, Hospice Care, Social Services, Foster Care, Social Work, Youth Program Coordination, Behavior Specialization, or as an RBT, BCAT, QMHP, Mental Health/Autism Advocate, Behavioral Health Technician, Direct Support Professional, Camp Counselor, or a related field.
