Job Description

Help Keep Dogs in Loving Homes Dog Behavior Consultant (Part-Time - 4-8 hours per week) Marin Humane | Novato, CA $24.78 - $27.52/hour DOE + $1.00/hour Spanish-Speaking Differential Do you have a passion for canine behavior, positive reinforcement training, and helping people navigate challenging situations with their dogs? Are you committed to humane, science-based behavior modification and making a lasting difference in the lives of animals and their families? Join Marin Humane as a Dog Behavior Consultant and help transform lives by providing compassionate, effective behavior support that strengthens the bond between dogs and their people. What You'll Do Conduct behavior consultations with clients in person, in their homes, and virtually Develop customized behavior modification plans and provide ongoing coaching and support Help clients address challenging behaviors using positive reinforcement and humane training methods Collaborate with fellow behavior professionals to ensure clients receive the best possible care and resources Evaluate behavior concerns, troubleshoot challenges, and recommend appropriate next steps Play a critical role in helping dogs remain successfully in their homes and communities What We're Looking For Experience in canine behavior consulting, behavior modification, or professional dog training Strong knowledge of positive reinforcement training and behavior modification principles Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, supportive manner Confidence working with behaviorally challenging dogs and navigating sensitive client conversations Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills A collaborative team player who values continued learning and professional growth Why This Work Matters Every consultation has the potential to change a life.
