Job Description
Company Overview KidsFirst is the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County, dedicated to ending child abuse and neglect through comprehensive therapy and family resource services. Established in 1989, we have been serving children, teens, and families in the Sierra-Sacramento region for over 28 years. Summary As a Clinical Therapist at KidsFirst, you will play a vital role in providing mental health counseling and support to children and families facing challenges related to abuse and neglect. This position is essential to our mission of fostering safe and healthy environments for youth in our community. Responsibilities Provide individual and group therapy sessions to children, teens, and families. Conduct crisis intervention as needed to ensure client safety. Develop treatment plans based on client assessments and progress. Collaborate with other professionals to coordinate care and resources for clients. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations. Facilitate support groups and workshops for parents and caregivers. Engage in case management activities to monitor client progress and needs. Stay informed about community resources to provide referrals as necessary. Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Valid license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or Psychologist (PhD/PsyD). Proven experience in mental health counseling with children or adolescents. Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to handle high-stress situations effectively. Excellent communication skills for building rapport with clients and collaborating with team members. Experience in case management practices is preferred. Familiarity with behavioral health principles is highly desirable.
