Our new San Luis Obispo location includes access to a garden next door, where clients can engage in nature-based activities like planting as part of their therapeutic work. We serve children, adolescents, and families, supporting emotional regulation, resilience, and self-awareness through personalized, creative care. Role Description We're looking for a Licensed or Associate Play Therapist to join our new location — someone who brings genuine warmth, creativity, and a holistic orientation to their clinical work. This role is best suited to a clinician drawn to a less conventional, more integrative style of practice. You'll work primarily with children, with openness to occasionally seeing teens and adults, using play therapy, nature-based interventions, and other expressive, creative modalities. This is a part-time role based on-site in San Luis Obispo, CA. The ideal candidate is able to see 20 clients per week, with a caseload of approximately 23 to account for cancellations. Responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating individual and family sessions, maintaining an organized and engaging playroom, and collaborating with caregivers, schools, and other providers. Qualifications Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field Licensed or Associate (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Psychologist) or Associate-registered in California (AMFT, ASW, APCC) Strong skills in play therapy Comfortable maintaining a caseload of approximately 23 clients to consistently deliver at least 20 sessions per week, accounting for cancellations Genuinely holistic orientation — comfortable integrating nature-based and expressive approaches into clinical work Waldorf education background a strong plus Comfort incorporating garden/outdoor activities into sessions with children Strong communication, documentation, and professional boundary-setting skills Compensation & Benefits $60 per hour; once caseload reaches 10 clients- $65 per hour Health and retirement benefits are not offered with this role
