Dr. Paula Strauss and Associates is a small private psychology practice in Santa Barbara with a strong reputation in the community and a steady flow of referrals, specializing in children, adolescents, parenting and families with the opportunity to work with adult individuals and couples as well. The practice utilizes an integrative, strength-based, and evidence-based approach (CBT, ERP, PCIT, Habit Reversal Training) with an emphasis on anxiety disorders, OCD, neurodivergence, and parenting support.

www.drpaulastrauss.com This position is particularly well suited for a doctoral-level clinician who is seeking high-quality clinical supervision, structured professional development, and is willing to work at least 2 days a week in the afternoons/early evenings (weekends are also an option). Because the majority of the clients will be private-pay, candidate understands that it will take some time to build a caseload. If the candidate would like to fill their caseload more quickly, taking on insurance-based clients is a possibility and the rate per hour will be between $25-$35. Ideal candidate is passionate about child-focused work, is able to work independently and is team-oriented. Duties Maintain a caseload of 10 weekly clients over the course of 2 days. Peak session times (because of child-focused caseload) are between 3 pm - 6 pm. Option to see clients on the weekends as well. Possibility to increase caseload to 20 weekly clients over the course of 5 days (this would likely include some insurance-based clients). Attend weekly 1 hour individual supervision with Dr. Paula Strauss. Attend weekly 1 hour didactic and professional training seminar with Dr. Paula Strauss. Maintain timely documentation using EHR (SimplePractice). Requirements Registered Psychological Assistant in CA, or eligible for registration. Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Previous experience providing clinical services to children. Ability to work in person in Santa Barbara. Legally allowed to work as a W-2 employee. A minimum of 1 year commitment is required, with 2 years preferred.
