We believe in equity, inclusion, diversity, and justice in the work that we do.
Our values:
Integrity and ethics Quality patient care Happy, healthy staff Fiscal responsibility Learning, education, and research Social justice Community Prevention and education Strengths-based How can I make myself a good applicant? The ideal applicant has an attention to detail, excellent communication and writing skills, good organizational skills, a passion for trauma and social justice, and the ability to work as both a team player and independently. Prior experience with Medicaid documentation is a plus! Our office primarily serves youth, adults, and families with trauma and co-occurring conditions. Clients are typically seen anywhere from every other week to up to 20 hours per week in our intensive programs. Our providers receive a high level of support with 2-4 opportunities for supervision/consultation per week, paid administrative time, case managers, and camaraderie. Excellent applicants enjoy working on a team and learning from others. What do you like about working here? Our team is fun, motivated, and actually gets along with each other. We love plants and dogs (although a few rogue providers prefer cats), but we also really love what we do. All staff are provided regular individual and group supervision at no cost to them. Every Monday we have breakfast together as we consult on cases. We also have several paid days off, including roughly 10-12 days during the holiday season, and other days throughout the year. Annually, we celebrate Employee Appreciation Day with lots of food, gifts, and a paid long weekend. Two or three times a year, we get together for dinner with staff, interns, and our families. Occasionally, our team celebrates each other with fun in-office competitions, such as our spring fitness challenge, holiday door decorating contests, and more. Why do you pay hourly as a W2 rather than as a 1099 or fee split? We trust that you know how to spend your time in a way that gives the best care to your clients. That means that time spent in approved trainings, doing unbillable case management, making phone calls, answering emails, completing documentation, attending supervision, and providing lower-paying services is considered equally as valuable as the highest paying service we provide. We believe in access to health care for all. By paying the same hourly rate, our providers are encouraged to take any insurance they are in network with rather than choosing only clients with higher paying coverage. We want healthy, happy providers. When you feel better, our clients feel better. This model allows us to provide more and better benefits because it ensures that everyone meets the 30 hour per week minimum without having to worry about cancellations, no shows, or caseload size. We understand that financial anxiety is real. By offering an hourly rate, you do not have to worry about your paycheck varying week to week. It also reduces countertransference by not allowing client attendance to dictate your paycheck. We provide a robust training ground for new clinicians. Our W2 model is largely thanks to our dedication to supporting pre-licensed clinician in their journey to becoming a fully licensed provider. We support our clinicians through excellent education opportunities, ample supervision, and a vibrant, welcoming team atmosphere. We want to let you focus on the good stuff. You went to school to become a therapist. You are probably really good at that. Let us handle the advertising, billing, taxes, and other headaches that come with running a practice. I'm eager to grow and advance in my career. What opportunities are there for me at TPC? At TPC, we are mission-driven and believe in providing high-quality, evidence based care to at-risk communities through comprehensive training and support for the long haul . For both interns and staff, we take this calling seriously. Our training program is rooted in scientific literature and community or team needs assessments, not trendiness or uncited opinions. According to a 2022 survey, for every 10 mental health clinicians to enter the field, 13 leave. We want to change that. We have deep dived into the research and compiled a supportive model that is both challenging yet warm, designed to support our providers in developing both competence and confidence in their clinical, administrative, and self-regulatory skills to create sustainability for the difficult yet essential work in our vulnerable communities. All of our providers participate in Balance Block. This is a unique opportunity to support a full-time work experience (and its benefits!) in a clinical setting without the pressure of seeing 30+ clients per week. Our research shows that this reduces burnout, diversifies skills, builds confidence, and increases team relationships. Our providers spend meaningful time engaging in rewarding endeavors like program planning and development, operational tasks, creative agency needs, curriculum, and mentorship. The transition after grad school can be challenging. For newly graduated providers, we encourage working with a variety of clients, developing breadth over depth. We provide a 2-3 year model of intentional support and supervision to develop a solid foundation. Individual or group consultation is offered multiple times per week and leadership has daily office hours for drop-in questions. Trainees are also provided an additional 2 year classroom with modules designed to facilitate ongoing learning and apply theory to practice. As providers transition into licensure, we work together to gradually turn decision-making over to maturing providers to build confidence. Exploring specialization is encouraged, and past providers have served our communities in areas such as eating disorders, substance use, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), group work, post-partum, parent coaching, supervision, intakes, and others. We celebrate the wealth of knowledge and experiences our providers bring! As providers grow in their career, some become leaders of people or programs, while others become in-house experts on different subjects, modalities, and populations. Many of our providers stay with us from internship through licensure. It is an honor to join with therapists throughout their journey, just as it is with clients!
