Position Summary:
Join WellPower's Intensive Treatment team and gain hands on clinical experience providing trauma informed, culturally responsive mental health services to children, adolescents, and their families. This internship is embedded within Homebased and
STAY SAFE
services, which provide short term, stabilization focused interventions for youth experiencing acute mental health needs, including suicidal ideation or recent suicide attempts. Services are primarily delivered in homes, clinics, schools, and other community settings. We are seeking a Master's level intern in Social Work or Counseling who is interested in intensive family work, crisis stabilization, and community based mental health. The intern will have the opportunity to provide individual therapy, family therapy, crisis support, safety planning, psychoeducation, and case management services under close supervision.

Duties & Functions:
Following an initial period of orientation, training, and shadowing, the intern will participate in core clinical services provided by the Homebased and
STAY SAFE
programs.
Duties may include:
Conducting biopsychosocial assessments and contributing to diagnostic formulation under supervision Providing individual and family therapy in home, clinic, and community settings Supporting youth and families experiencing suicidal ideation or recent suicide attempts Participating in safety planning and crisis stabilization interventions Delivering psychoeducation related to mental health, coping skills, and family systems Engaging in case management and coordination with schools, medical providers, and community partners Collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team Completing clinical documentation in accordance with WellPower standards Attending team meetings, case consultations, and internal trainings The intern will receive a minimum of one hour per week of individual clinical supervision and may participate in group supervision, case consultation, and agency wide trainings. Training in evidence informed approaches, including specific suicide interventions, will be provided as appropriate to the intern role. Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Master's level students in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related clinical field. Second year students preferred. Interest in child, adolescent, and family mental health required. Hours Minimum of 10 hours per week, with 15 to 20 hours preferred, along with a 9-to-12-month commitment aligned with the academic calendar.
