Denver Children's Home has an opening for a Therapist.

SUMMARY:

The primary function of the Therapist is to provide family, individual, and/or group psychotherapy from a trauma-informed care model to children and their families in the Day Treatment or Residential Programs. Our therapists receive weekly individual and group supervisions and enjoy a 32-40 hours/week schedule.

Essential Job Functions:

Provide individual, family and group therapy, using a trauma informed model of care, to clients assigned to him/her. Will develop and implement appropriate treatment plans. Set effective limits which are consistent with treatment plans and DCH's philosophy. Provide good continuity of care for clients and their families Document elements of client care. Develop, maintain and terminate therapeutic relationships with clients as is appropriate to their success during their time at DCH and after they leave. Provide consistent and effective supervision of all children

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Master's degree in a mental health related field and Licensed or License eligible in the state of Colorado (additional compensation for such will be discussed at hire)

Preferred:

CAC or CAC-eligible preferred (additional compensation for such will be discussed at hire) Minimum of two years' experience working with children and/or adolescents, preferably with those with significant emotional disabilities/behavioral issues and/or trauma. Family therapy experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES

Have knowledge of and an understanding of advanced, evidenced-based, and trauma-informed individual and family therapy skills and therapeutic interventions. Ability to quickly assess, identify, and develop specific and measurable goals and objectives for therapeutic interventions. Ability and willingness to work as an integral part of a high-functioning and goal-oriented multidisciplinary team. Willingness to take initiative, be flexible, and take ownership of projects. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to diverse cultures. Knowledge of and ability to implement conflict resolution and crisis intervention. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain professionalism under pressure. Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize. Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and professionalism with colleagues, peers, and clients at all times.

REQUIREMENTS

Ability to pass a functional skills physical and subsequent physicals every two years Pass background check with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Ability to gain clearance through the Colorado Central Registry of Child Abuse and neglect (TRAILS). Have or obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification. Have and maintain certification in Therapeutic Crisis Interventions and intervene in crisis using approved crisis intervention strategies including physical management of clients.
