Position Summary The Therapist provides comprehensive clinical services to individuals, families, and groups within a behavioral health setting. This role includes conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, delivering evidence-based therapy, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary team members to support each client's recovery and overall well-being. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct initial clinical assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and mental status examinations. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary staff. Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in accordance with agency policy, DCF, Joint Commission, ASAM criteria and HIPAA standards. Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and clinical supervision. Coordinate care with medical, psychiatric, and case management staff to ensure continuity of services. Facilitate crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Support discharge planning and aftercare coordination. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain licensure and stay informed on best practices.

Qualifications Education:

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field.

Licensure/Certification:

Active state license or license-eligible status (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent). CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience providing therapy in a behavioral health, substance use, or related clinical setting preferred. Experience with trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, and evidence-based practices strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and therapeutic interventions. Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to ethical practice, client confidentiality, and cultural competence. Working Conditions Primarily office-based in a behavioral health facility. May require participation in on-call or after-hours crisis response. Exposure to individuals experiencing emotional distress or behavioral crises. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and engage in therapeutic sessions for extended periods. Occasional lifting or movement of light materials (<20 lbs).
