Job Description

WILLING TO ASSIST WITH RELOCATION
We are seeking a motivated, ethical, and compassionate Group Facilitator to join our growing organization, which specializes in substance use disorder treatment, trauma-informed group therapy, and holistic recovery services for individuals receiving substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment. The Group Facilitator will lead meaningful, engaging, and clinically appropriate group experiences that align with our organizational culture across Residential, PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program), and IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) levels of care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a trauma-informed and/or trauma-focused approach, deliver content in a dynamic and interactive manner, and support a whole-person model of care. We are seeking someone who can facilitate experiential and process-oriented groups, as well as groups incorporating mindfulness, guided meditation, grounding exercises, breathwork, and other holistic practices that support recovery, wellness, and whole-person healing. Responsibilities Facilitate therapeutic, experiential, mindfulness-based, process-oriented, and wellness-focused groups for patients enrolled in Residential, PHP, and IOP programs. Create a safe, respectful, inclusive, and trauma-informed environment for group members. Co-create group curricula with the treatment team based on evidence-based practices, trauma-informed principles, mindfulness, holistic healing, wellness, and individual treatment plans. Lead experiential groups that may include guided meditation, mindfulness exercises, creative art exercises, meditation walks, grounding techniques, breathwork, relaxation practices, and other appropriate wellness activities. Utilize therapeutic and experiential techniques to promote self-awareness, emotional regulation, coping skills, recovery, personal growth, and whole-person healing. Collaborate with the treatment team to promote consistency, continuity of care, and an integrated whole-person approach to treatment. Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of group sessions and patient progress. Adhere to all ethical, legal, organizational, and regulatory standards of practice. Participate in staff meetings, clinical collaboration, training, and ongoing professional development. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or relevant certification Must possess or be working toward a behavioral health-specific certification through the Florida Certification Board. For qualified candidates who are not yet certified, we can help you work toward obtaining a certification.
Qualifying certifications include:
CAP, CAC, CRPS, CRSS, CMHP, CPP, CPS
Minimum of one year of experience facilitating therapeutic groups, preferably in a behavioral health, substance use, or mental health setting. Experience facilitating process groups and the ability to hold space with compassion, presence, and professionalism when addressing difficult, emotionally intense, or sensitive topics. Experience or training in trauma-informed care, trauma-focused approaches, mindfulness, guided meditation, holistic healing, wellness, or experiential group facilitation preferred. Strong understanding of group dynamics, addiction, mental health, co-occurring disorders, and recovery principles. Ability to facilitate, confidently lead, or learn to facilitate mindfulness exercises, guided meditations, meditation walks, grounding techniques, breathwork, or similar wellness-based interventions. Ability to deliver material in a creative, engaging, and dynamic manner. Ability to remain calm, flexible, and professional while responding to evolving group needs.
