  • and family-focused private practice seeking an experienced LCPC or LCSW to join our Wheaton office on a full-time or part-time basis.

This role offers the flexibility and autonomy of private practice without the administrative burden of building and running one. Roots to Branches provides referrals, office space, billing support, technology, administrative infrastructure, and a fully furnished play therapy environment. Clinicians bring strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and a genuine interest in working with children and families. About Roots to Branches Founded in 2023 by Molly Westfall, LCPC, Roots to Branches provides high-quality, caring, evidence-based counseling to children and families while supporting the well-being and professional growth of its clinicians.

Responsibilities include:
  • Providing individual therapy to children and/or adolescents using evidence-based, developmentally appropriate approaches
  • Conducting clinical assessments and developing diagnoses and individualized treatment plans
  • Monitoring progress and modifying treatment plans as clinically appropriate
  • Maintaining timely, accurate clinical documentation
  • Incorporating parent involvement, psychoeducation, and collaboration when appropriate
  • Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers
  • Collaborating with schools, physicians, occupational therapists, and other professionals when clinically indicated
  • Maintaining professional, ethical, and evidence-based standards of care
  • Participating in continuing education and clinical consultation as appropriate Experienced clinicians are expected to exercise independent clinical judgment while having access to colleagues and consultation as needed.
Qualifications Required:
  • Current Illinois LCPC or LCSW
  • Master's degree or higher in counseling, social work, or a related behavioral health discipline
  • Meaningful clinical experience providing therapy to children and/or adolescents
  • Ability to manage cases independently and exercise sound clinical judgment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Commitment to ethical, professional, evidence-based care
Preferred:
  • 3-5 years of post-graduate clinical experience
  • Experience working with children approximately ages 2-12
  • Experience with play therapy, art therapy, expressive interventions, or another developmentally appropriate child-therapy modality
  • Experience working collaboratively with parents and families
  • Interest in developing or maintaining expertise in child and adolescent therapy Schedule Both full-time and part-time clinicians are welcome to apply.

Because much of the demand for child and adolescent services occurs outside school hours, after-school, evening, and weekend availability is helpful. Scheduling is otherwise flexible, and arrangements can be discussed based on mutual fit. Who This Position Is Especially Well Suited For This role may be a good fit for an experienced clinician who:

  • Wants a part-time private-practice caseload without operating an independent practice
  • Already works elsewhere and would like to add 6-8 clinical hours per week, or is seeking full-time employment
  • Is balancing professional work with family responsibilities
  • Values flexibility and independence
  • Enjoys working with children but does not want to handle marketing, billing, office management, or insurance administration
  • Wants access to clinical colleagues without working in a highly managed environment
  • Would like to spend more professional time providing therapy At Roots to Branches, experienced clinicians receive both support and room to practice independently.
