At the Western Kansas Child Advocacy Center we help children and their families heal from the trauma of abuse through prevention, support and services. This position exists to ensure that all child victims and their non-offending family members receive appropriate mental health services. This position plays a crucial role in our unique program focusing on trauma and providing long-term help to change the trajectory of children's lives and initiate the healing process in Western Kansas.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide individual and family therapy to child victims and their non-offending caregivers. Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning. Utilize trauma-focused interventions, including play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), PSB-CBT, and expressive arts therapy. Offer crisis intervention services for children and families experiencing acute distress. Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including law enforcement, child protective services, and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive care. Provide case-related psychological consultation to team members and community partners.

Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or a related field (or in the process of completing). Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Kansas (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT). Experience working with children and families affected by trauma is preferred. Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, child development, and evidence-based treatment modalities. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Knowledge or experience in child welfare preferred. Valid drivers license

Pay:

$56,376.00 - $77,256.00 per year
