Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate IOP Child Therapist to join our mental health care team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in child and youth therapy, with expertise in delivering evidence-based interventions within an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) setting. As an IOP Child Therapist, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic services that promote emotional well-being and resilience among children and adolescents. Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health and behavioral assessments to identify client needs, strengths, and treatment goals. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, behavioral therapy, and trauma-specific interventions. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions tailored to children's developmental levels and cultural backgrounds. Collect and document clinical data accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines. Engage families in the treatment process through psychoeducation, case management, and support strategies to enhance client outcomes. Utilize crisis intervention techniques to manage acute behavioral or emotional episodes effectively. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, ensure continuity of services, and facilitate comprehensive case management. Maintain detailed medical records, progress notes, and documentation aligned with clinical standards and organizational policies. Requirements Proven experience working with children and adolescents in mental health or behavioral health settings, including home & community care environments. Strong knowledge of child & family counseling techniques, including applied behavior analysis (ABA), art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed practices. Familiarity with medical terminology, mental health assessments, diagnostic evaluation processes, and clinical documentation standards such as HIPAA. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds while providing culturally sensitive counseling services. Excellent communication skills for client engagement, family collaboration, and interdisciplinary teamwork. Certification or licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or equivalent is preferred. Knowledge of crisis management strategies, conflict resolution techniques, and gender issues counseling enhances service delivery.
