Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing clinical recommendations for client care, including: assessing a client strengths, needs, abilities and preferences; formulating a diagnostic impression based on current DSM criteria; and in conjunction with the client/family, developing a workable plan for treatment. Providing individual and group therapy as scheduled, including: appropriately preparing for therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based treatment methods, documenting the session into the EMR system (e.g., Navix) within 24 hours of service rendering, and completing
BPS/ASAM
assessments. Involving client support systems in client care, including: providing clinical updates (e.g., to family, EAP, court liaisons) and completing family therapy sessions. Communicating relevant case information to billing, insurance, and staff, including responding to frequent calls, texts, and emails. Creating individualized intervention plans for clients based on needs, diagnosis, and support systems. Fostering a safe environment for clients and staff, including: using professional communication, managing one's emotions, and reporting any client safety concerns to HR. Acting as a point of contact for clients needing direction or support, including: orienting and welcoming new admits into the program, answering questions, and providing support. Adheres to facility cleaning protocols, including: maintaining the cleanliness of the group rooms and office. Providing client crisis support, including: ACA blocking/Intervention, intervening and supporting clients during crises, calling emergency services, making recommendations for support, and de-escalting clients. Adheres to client confidentiality standards including, knowledge of state and federal confidentiality laws (e.g., HIPAA); and completing required training. Maintaining strong professional boundaries with clients and staff including, capability of drawing boundaries; recognizing boundary breaches; notifying staff of potential boundary breaches; and completing boundary training. Advocating for client authorization and care, including: communicating via Teams to the third-party biller regarding client cases, completing peer-to-peer reviews with insurance, and appropriately documenting "medical necessity." Supporting the success of the overall department, including: changing one's schedule based on organizational needs and completing clinical tasks as delegated by the executive director.

Employee provides individual counseling, case management, skills training, and facilitates educational, skill development and counseling groups as assigned and properly and promptly charts these activities in client records 5. Employee works cooperatively with other community resources and referral sources to coordinate services to clients. 6.

COMPETENCIES 1.
Working knowledge of evidence-based treatment methods, effective behavioral intervention, and managing client crises. 2. Working knowledge of navigating and utilizing EMR systems and Excel spreadsheets. 3. Working knowledge of HIPAA laws and maintaining confidentiality. 4. Ability to complete clinical documentation and showcase "medical necessity." Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. High in emotional intelligence and ability to manage emotions under high stress situations. Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective oral and written communication skills including proper use of communication tools and technologies. Ability to work flexible hours including some evening and weekend requirements. Ability to present information in a clear and concise way, as to motivate a team. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Access to a reliable personal vehicle, documented expenses shall be reimbursed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience Have a masters degree in marriage and family therapy or social work and be registered with the board of behavioral sciences (BBS) as an intern and have received an associate or intern number. Knowledge An acute understanding of counseling and other treatment procedures for acute mental health conditions, alcoholism and drug addiction related problems. A vast knowledge of regulations concerning alcoholism and drug addiction treatment. Working knowledge of alcoholism and drug addiction and treatment procedures for such illness. Evidence-best treatment methods.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience Have a masters degree in marriage and family therapy or social work and be registered with the board of behavioral sciences (BBS) as an intern and have received an associate or intern number or a licensure number. 1+ years of experience working within the field. Knowledge An acute understanding of counseling and other treatment procedures for acute mental health conditions, alcoholism and drug addiction related problems. A vast knowledge of regulations concerning alcoholism and drug addiction treatment. Working knowledge of alcoholism and drug addiction and treatment procedures for such illness. Evidence-best treatment methods.
