About the Organization Pathways of Wisdom Psychotherapy Services is a comprehensive outpatient mental health clinic located in Westbury, New York. We are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and healing environment for individuals navigating the complexities of trauma. Our team is dedicated to employing evidence-based practices with a strong focus on recovery and personal empowerment. We prioritize ongoing professional development and encourage our staff to stay informed on the latest techniques and research in trauma therapy. Work Environment This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while ensuring access to a supportive outpatient office environment. Working closely with a collaborative team of professionals, you will be able to provide individual and group therapy sessions as required. Our working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility necessary to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and trauma history, paving the way for personalized treatment plans. Develop and execute individualized treatment strategies that focus on trauma recovery, utilizing therapeutic methods such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, assisting clients in processing their traumatic experiences, building coping strategies, and promoting emotional healing. Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless integration of care, facilitating holistic treatment approaches. Provide crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, assisting clients in navigating short-term distress and ensuring their safety. Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms, empowering them with knowledge and resources. Maintain thorough documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with legal and ethical standards. Participate in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development to enhance competency in trauma-informed care practices. Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy methodologies and techniques, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes. Patient Population / Client Focus The patients you will serve mainly include individuals dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our focus is on giving a voice to trauma survivors and equipping them with the tools necessary for healing. You will have the chance to work with diverse populations, adapting your therapeutic approaches to meet unique needs and backgrounds. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required. A current and valid state licensure as LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R is essential. Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities is a must. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient interactions. Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications for documentation and patient management. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in a dedicated manner. Preferred Experience A minimum of 2 years post-licensure experience in a mental health setting, particularly focused on trauma care. Proven experience delivering evidence-based trauma-focused therapies. Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients. Compensation and Benefits This position offers an annual salary ranging from
USD 90,000
to 110,000, commensurate with experience.
