Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as an IBHS Behavior Consultant, where your expertise in behavioral health and developmental disabilities will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and individuals with autism. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based interventions rooted in applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote positive behaviors and skill development. You will collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to assess needs, develop tailored treatment plans, and monitor progress. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and eligibility for services. Develop individualized treatment plans based on data collection, patient assessment, and best practices in behavioral therapy. Implement ABA-based interventions designed to improve communication, social skills, daily living skills, and reduce challenging behaviors for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Collect, analyze, and document data meticulously to track progress and inform treatment adjustments while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient care by delivering direct therapy sessions, supporting families through training, and offering guidance on behavior management techniques. Maintain accurate medical documentation, medical records, and notes using appropriate medical terminology for ongoing clinical review. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including special education professionals, medical providers, and behavioral health specialists to ensure comprehensive support for clients. Requirements Proven experience in behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or related fields working with children or individuals with disabilities. Strong understanding of working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities; experience in special education is a plus. Excellent skills in data collection, patient assessment, and diagnostic evaluation to inform treatment strategies. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining confidentiality of medical records and sensitive information. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members while demonstrating patience and empathy. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to behavioral health settings; experience in intake processes is advantageous. Certification or training in behavioral health or related disciplines is preferred but not mandatory; ongoing professional development encouraged.
