Job Description

JFC Contractors is a small, busy construction company looking for a dependable, organized, and proactive part-time office & operations assistant to work approximately 15 hours per week, ideally Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This is not just a filing or data-entry position. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn our business, can handle a variety of tasks, notices what needs to be done, and is interested in growing into additional responsibilities over time. Initial responsibilities may include :
  • Organizing, scanning, filing, and maintaining job paperwork and office records.
  • Setting up and maintaining job folders, binders, and tracking systems.
  • Basic data entry and updating internal logs and spreadsheets.
  • Entering and organizing EPO/Change order information for review.
  • Organizing field tickets, employee paperwork, and timesheet information.
  • Preparing information and paperwork for job-costing review.
  • Maintaining vehicle/equipment records and other office tracking lists.
  • Keeping office, safety, and employee supplies organized and stocked.
  • Answering phones, taking messages, receiving deliveries, and assisting visitors when needed.
  • Following up on routine paperwork and outstanding items.
  • Running occasional local errands, such as the post office, picking up blueprints or supplies, returning packages, and picking up the mail.
  • Meeting vendors or service providers at the office when necessary.
  • Helping organize and improve office procedures as the position develops.
Who we're looking fo r: Someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable multitasking in a small, active construction office. You do not need to know everything on day one, but you should be willing to ask questions, take good notes, and eventually work independently. We especially value someone who can finish one assignment and then recognize what else needs attention rather than waiting to be given another task. Construction-office experience is helpful but not required. Strong basic computer skills, attention to detail, and comfort working with paperwork, spreadsheets, and electronic files are important. This position has room to grow. As the employee learns our system and demonstrates reliability and good judgment, additional administrative and operational responsibilities may be added. Our goal is to develop someone who can become a dependable backup in the office and help keep day-to-day operations moving when other staff members are unavailable. Schedule Approximately 15 hours per week to start, ideally Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The position is in person at our Aston office. Additional hours and responsibilities may become available as the employee becomes familiar with the company and demonstrates reliability, good judgment, and ability to work independently.
