Job Description

We are seeking an EVENING counselor to join our team! They will be responsible to cover a caseload at the IOP level of care. The counselor is responsible for performing a variety of client care activities as directed by the Clinical Director and other members of the team. They will be responsible for patient caseload, providing group, individual, and family therapy. This counselor will be conducting intake evaluations, biopsychosocial assessments, developing and updating treatment plans and taking care of any other case management needs. The individual is responsible for leading evening IOP groups and documenting group notes per client. They may be asked to facilitate some day PHP groups as needed.
Job Duties:
Provide therapeutic interventions in an intensive outpatient group setting for 3 hours per session, up to 3-4 days per week Provide therapeutic intervention in an outpatient group setting for 1.5 hours, once per week Formulate a comprehensive treatment plan with patient that effectively addresses patient needs Provide individual and family-based therapeutic interventions Complete intake evaluations utilizing ASAM criteria Meet with clients throughout IOP to complete case management (treatment plans, BPS, etc.) Assess and support clients who may be experiencing co-occurring mental health Communicate effectively with other staff, clients, clinicians, family members and outside providers Maintain confidentiality by abiding by all HIPPA regulations Learn and use company required software, such as Electronic Health/Medical Records Ensure that documentation is timely, consistent, clear and articulate Display positivity and a willingness to encourage team morale Ability to perform other assigned duties/tasks Qualifications and Requirements Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Healthcare related major, required. Must have at least 2 years of previous clinical experience, preferably in the area of mental health and addictions Must be comfortable and competent in working with individuals who have experienced complex mental, emotional, or relational trauma Must be comfortable speaking in front of a group, and leading small-group dynamics Must have knowledge of Motivational Interviewing skills Must be well organized, be flexible and willing to participate and contribute within a team
Abilities/Competencies:
Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline. Ability to work effectively as a team member Ability to interpret and understand basic insurance benefits/reimbursement Ability to prioritize and communicate effectively Comfortable working autonomously when needed Adheres to Code of Ethics and DDAP regulations Knowledge of HIPAA/Confidentiality Demonstrate Competencies in assessing: Mental Health Trauma/Abuse/Neglect Suicide/Homicide risk
