Key Responsibilities Conduct individual and family therapy sessions, either in the comfort of the client's home or via teletherapy, fostering a safe space for exploration and growth. Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans targeting specific therapeutic goals, including anger management, social skills enhancement, and coping strategies. Actively monitor and address high-risk behaviors, providing interventions to prevent self-injury or aggression, with a focus on proactive strategies to create a positive home environment. Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team, ensuring seamless communication with psychologists, social workers, and other specialists dedicated to enhancing family dynamics and supporting at-risk youth. Attend and contribute to monthly team meetings, sharing insights and strategies to improve client outcomes and program effectiveness. Patient Population / Client Focus This role primarily involves working with children and adolescents aged 3-20 who present with a range of behavioral challenges and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Therapists will provide essential support and guidance to caregivers, empowering them to effectively manage their child's needs and promote overall family well-being. Qualifications A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field. An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in the state of Florida. Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with flexibility for weekend sessions. A valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for visits to clients' homes. Successful completion of a background check, including fingerprinting, to ensure client safety. Preferred Experience Experience in providing positive behavior support and intervention strategies. Prior work with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly valued. Familiarity with bilingual therapy (Spanish or Portuguese) is preferred, enhancing the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
