South Coast Psychotherapy, P.C. is a growing insurance-based group psychotherapy practice in Newport Beach dedicated to providing thoughtful, compassionate psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We are seeking a Spanish-speaking Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) to join our practice. This is a part-time, W-2 hybrid position providing both in-person and telehealth psychotherapy. Our clinicians work with a culturally and demographically diverse client population that includes adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. Fluency in Spanish at a native or near-native level, sufficient to provide psychotherapy in Spanish, is required. D. , a Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst with more than 25 years of clinical experience and extensive experience teaching and supervising mental health clinicians. Supervision is primarily insight-oriented and psychodynamic , while incorporating other clinically appropriate modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family systems approaches, supportive therapy, and other evidence-based approaches as needed , based on the client's presentation and treatment goals. Develop Your Clinical Skills Gain experience providing psychotherapy to a diverse range of clients while developing your own clinical style, theoretical orientation, and professional identity. Private Practice Experience Learn the practical aspects of working in an insurance-based private practice , including managing your schedule and caseload, completing clinical documentation, working within insurance requirements, marketing your services, and preparing to establish your own practice after licensure. ABOUT THE POSITION
Part-time:
Approximately 15-30 clinical hours per week
Schedule:
Monday-Saturday Some evening and/or Saturday availability required
Hybrid:
In-person in Newport Beach and telehealth
Employment:
W-2 Clinical rate: $40 per clinical hour Administrative rate: $20 per administrative hour
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must: Be currently registered and in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an AMFT or APCC Be eligible to accrue supervised hours toward California licensure Have completed fewer than 1,500 hours toward licensure Have native or near-native fluency in Spanish , sufficient to provide psychotherapy in Spanish Demonstrate foundational therapeutic, assessment, and diagnostic skills Be able to conduct clinical intake assessments and develop treatment plans Be comfortable completing timely clinical documentation and working within an insurance-based practice Be comfortable working with clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds Be interested in developing skills in psychodynamic, insight-oriented, and integrative psychotherapy Be dependable, self-motivated, flexible, and highly ethical Be available for some evening and/or Saturday appointments Experience working with adults, adolescents, children, couples, or families is welcomed but not required across all populations.
