Position Overview RRC Therapy is seeking a Paid Resident Therapy Intern for a part-time, hybrid position based in Columbia, Maryland , with opportunities for remote work. Under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician, the Resident Therapy Intern will provide therapeutic services while developing clinical skills and professional competence. The position provides opportunities to gain hands-on experience with assessment, treatment planning, clinical documentation, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. The intern will also participate in team meetings, case consultations, clinical discussions, ongoing training, and individual supervision designed to support continued professional development. Responsibilities Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician, as appropriate to the intern's training and scope of practice. Participate in client assessments and clinical interviews. Develop and implement treatment plans under supervision. Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation. Participate in individual supervision, case consultation, and team meetings. Engage in ongoing training and professional development. Apply evidence-based and culturally responsive therapeutic practices. Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to applicable ethical and professional standards. Develop therapeutic rapport and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients. Collaborate with supervisors and other members of the clinical team regarding client care. Qualifications Graduate-level education or enrollment in a graduate program in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field . Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish rapport and build trusting therapeutic relationships. Interest or experience in couple's counseling. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical records. Comfort using electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and other digital tools. Reliable transportation. Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional standards. Ability and willingness to provide therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to applicants who: Are seeking a minimum two-semester placement . Have prior counseling, clinical, or behavioral health experience. Demonstrate a strong commitment to mental health and client-centered care. Demonstrate an interest in culturally responsive clinical practice.
