Work Environment This full-time remote position allows therapists to engage with clients in a supportive setting, utilizing telehealth technology to facilitate meaningful interactions. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients. Collaborate with clients to design individualized treatment plans tailored to their personal goals, preferences, and clinical needs. Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address mood disorders. Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, outlining treatment options and self-care strategies to foster engagement in recovery. Regularly monitor and document client progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary. Coordinate with psychiatrists and other health professionals to provide integrated care that supports holistic client wellbeing. Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in mental health to enhance therapeutic strategies. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards. Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Advocate for clients' mental health needs and work to diminish the stigma associated with seeking help. Patient Population / Client Focus As an LMFT at Ballad Counseling Center, you will primarily work with individuals dealing with mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting various client demographics, including refugees, the homeless, and those affected by domestic violence. By providing culturally sensitive and effective treatment, you will help clients navigate their emotional challenges and achieve lasting mental wellness. Qualifications Active and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a secure therapeutic relationship with clients. Empathy and an understanding, nonjudgmental approach towards clients' experiences and struggles. Strong organizational and time-management abilities to effectively manage a caseload and administrative responsibilities. Preferred Experience Prior experience in a community health setting is advantageous, particularly in working with diverse populations facing significant life challenges. Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and evidence-based treatment modalities. Experience advocating for mental health issues in the community may enhance role effectiveness.
