Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist PRN (Pro Re Nata, meaning as needed) to join our dynamic mental health team. In this role, you will provide flexible, high-quality clinical counseling and therapy services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will help clients navigate mental health challenges, manage co-occurring disorders, and achieve their personal goals through evidence-based practices. This position offers the opportunity to work in various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and via telehealth platforms, ensuring accessible care for all clients. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to accurately document client conditions. Deliver individual, group, family, and youth therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, art therapy, and behavioral therapy. Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health episodes effectively while ensuring client safety and well-being. Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and treatment planning protocols. Utilize electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems for precise documentation of patient care, progress notes, medical records, and clinical data collection. Engage in case management activities including patient assessment, patient care coordination, and follow-up to support ongoing recovery efforts. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care for clients with complex needs such as developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, addiction issues, or co-occurring disorders. Apply research-based practices and evidence-based interventions to optimize treatment outcomes while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines. Participate in telehealth therapy sessions utilizing secure telehealth platforms to expand access to mental health services across diverse populations. Maintain professional development through ongoing training in ICD coding updates, CPT coding for billing purposes, trauma-informed care techniques, and specialized areas such as grief counseling or geriatrics. Experience Proven experience working with children and youth in clinical or outpatient settings with a focus on child & family counseling or pediatrics. Demonstrated expertise in crisis management and crisis intervention techniques within inpatient or outpatient environments. Prior experience providing mental health counseling for individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly desirable. Familiarity with hospital experience or inpatient care settings is preferred. Strong background in behavioral health modalities including applied behavior analysis (ABA), social work principles, addiction counseling, and trauma-focused therapies. Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) along with CPT coding for accurate documentation and billing procedures. Experience working with diverse populations across outpatient clinics or community-based programs while maintaining compliance with clinical documentation standards. Ability to utilize EMR/EHR systems efficiently for patient records management and data collection purposes.
