Licensed Mental Health Therapist- Independent Contractor

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a clinically licensed LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT to join our small, established private practice as a 1099 independent contractor . This position offers significant flexibility and clinical autonomy, with no required minimum caseload . Contractors determine their own availability and desired workload based on their professional goals. The practice provides established referral sources, billing and administrative support, EHR and secure communication systems, and optional office space in Sycamore, allowing clinicians to focus primarily on providing high-quality psychotherapy services. We welcome clinicians with a wide range of clinical specialties, including those whose areas of expertise complement or expand the services currently offered by the practice. This is an opportunity for a clinician who wants the flexibility of private practice without taking on all of the administrative responsibilities of running a practice independently.
Compensation:
Compensation is based on the service provided, with rates established for each type of service. For example, standard therapy sessions are compensated at $80 per session, while intake/initial assessment sessions are compensated at $100 per session. This is per-service compensation, not an hourly wage. The $80/hour amount displayed by Indeed reflects the standard session rate required by Indeed's compensation fields. Contractor Benefits & Perks $250 annual CEU stipend to support continuing education and professional development Internet stipend to help offset the cost of reliable internet service for telehealth End-of-year bonus opportunity Flexible scheduling and clinical autonomy No required minimum caseload Optional use of Sycamore office space Billing and administrative support EHR and secure communication systems Established referral sources Duties Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations within the scope of your professional license and clinical competence, utilizing current diagnostic and coding standards. Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs and utilize evidence-based and clinically appropriate therapeutic approaches. Provide individual psychotherapy and, when applicable to the clinician's specialty and scope of practice (ex. family, couples, child, or adolescent therapy). Provide counseling and psychotherapy for a variety of presenting concerns and populations consistent with your areas of clinical expertise. Utilize secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms to provide services to clients, with in-person services available as appropriate. Respond appropriately to clinical crises and utilize appropriate crisis intervention and safety-planning practices when clinically indicated. Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required clinical records. Protect client confidentiality and maintain compliance with HIPAA, applicable laws and regulations, licensing requirements, and professional ethical standards. Coordinate care with other healthcare providers and appropriate professionals when clinically indicated and with appropriate client authorization. Exercise independent clinical judgment and provide services within the scope of your professional license, training, and competence. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and communicate professionally with clients and practice administration. Maintain active licensure, professional credentials, and professional liability insurance as required for independent practice. Determine your own clinical availability and desired caseload in accordance with the independent contractor relationship. Requirements Active Illinois state licensure as a Clinically Licensed Mental Health Therapist (ex. LCSW, LMFT, or LCPC). Limited licenses will not be considered for this position (LSW, LPC, etc). Independent clinical licensure with no requirement for clinical supervision to provide services. Master's degree or higher in a field appropriate to the clinician's professional license. Experience providing psychotherapy to adults and/or adolescents, as applicable to your area of practice. Ability to practice independently and exercise sound clinical judgment. Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills. Commitment to ethical, professional, and client-centered care. Specialty experience in any clinical area is welcome. Areas that complement or expand the practice's existing services are particularly encouraged. Reliable access to technology and internet service sufficient for telehealth services. Willingness to maintain professional liability insurance and comply with applicable professional and legal requirements. Ability to manage the responsibilities associated with independent contractor status.
Pay:
$80.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 1.0 per week
