INTERNS / PRACTICUM
candidates are welcome! This is a 1099 Position, that offers flexible scheduling. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will help individuals navigate emotional challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their mental wellness goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact through evidence-based practices, innovative therapies, and compassionate patient care. You will work collaboratively with Safe Haven's team to deliver high-quality mental health interventions in-person and tele-health settings. Duties Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10 coding standards to determine appropriate treatment plans. Deliver individual sessions using modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and behavioral therapy. Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute emotional distress or psychiatric emergencies. Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and ensure accurate medical documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Provide specialized counseling for conditions such as PTSD, addiction, grief, chronic pain, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and co-occurring disorders. Engage in case management activities including patient care coordination, social work support, and research to enhance therapeutic outcomes. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines while ensuring the confidentiality and security of medical records and patient information.
Experience:
Skilled in crisis management, crisis intervention techniques, and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with telehealth therapy platforms and delivering services via telehealth is advantageous. Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation. Background in social work or related fields with training in medical terminology, clinical documentation standards, treatment planning, and patient assessment procedures is desirable.
