Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic mental health team as an Outpatient Mental Health Therapist, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals across diverse age groups and backgrounds. This position offers an engaging opportunity to deliver psychotherapy, conduct comprehensive assessments, and develop tailored treatment plans in a supportive outpatient setting. You will utilize your expertise to foster healing, resilience, and growth for clients facing a wide range of mental health challenges. Your dedication will help empower clients to achieve their wellness goals through innovative therapeutic approaches and collaborative care. This is a 1099 contract position offering a 70/30 split. The therapist must be able to offer 2 days per week in person availability at our Williamston, NC office and must be willing to serve children ages 5 and older. Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to accurately identify client needs. Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions that address issues including mood disorders, grief, trauma, PTSD, autism spectrum disorders, co-occurring disorders, and developmental disabilities. Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during acute episodes or emergencies. Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote therapy sessions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards. Maintain detailed clinical documentation including progress notes, treatment plans, medical records, and case management reports within EMR/EHR systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, support patient assessments, and facilitate continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Requirements Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or a related mental health field from an accredited institution. Valid licensure or certification as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), licensed professional counselor (LPC), marriage and family therapist (MFT), or equivalent credential. Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults or geriatrics in outpatient or clinic environments. Strong knowledge of clinical counseling techniques including motivational interviewing, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and behavior management. Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate documentation and billing purposes. Proficiency in telehealth therapy platforms and electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. Ability to handle crisis situations effectively while demonstrating excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity. Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
