is a growing behavioral health organization committed to helping children and families transform obstacles into stepping stones. We provide trauma-informed, person-centered services to children and adolescents in foster homes, group homes, and other approved community-based settings. We are seeking dependable, compassionate, and highly organized Qualified Mental Health Professionals-Community Services (QMHP-CS) to provide skills training and support services to children and adolescents experiencing behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges. Position Summary The QMHP-CS will provide individualized, family/LAR, and group skills training services according to each client's recovery plan. Services focus on helping clients develop practical skills related to emotional regulation, anger management, communication, decision-making, healthy relationships, coping, behavior management, and independent functioning. This is a field-based position. Candidates must be comfortable traveling to foster homes, group homes, and other authorized service locations. Essential Responsibilities Provide Medicaid-authorized psychosocial rehabilitation and skills training services to children and adolescents. Teach developmentally appropriate coping, communication, social, problem-solving, and emotional-regulation skills. Assist clients with managing symptoms and improving their ability to function successfully at home, at school, and in relationships. Provide skills training and education to parents, caregivers, and legally authorized representatives when included in the recovery plan. Conduct individual and group skills-training sessions. Implement interventions identified in the client's treatment or recovery plan. Use creative, engaging, and age-appropriate activities during sessions. Monitor client progress and communicate significant concerns to the clinical team. Respond appropriately to behavioral concerns and assist with crisis prevention and de-escalation. Coordinate services with caregivers, group-home staff, therapists, case managers, and other members of the treatment team. Complete accurate, detailed, and Medicaid-compliant progress notes within 48 hours of service delivery. Maintain an accurate schedule and update appointments promptly when changes occur. Participate in supervision, staff meetings, training, and quality-assurance activities. Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, Medicaid, HHSC, and organizational requirements. Follow all policies related to professional boundaries, mandated reporting, safety, and ethical conduct. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, rehabilitation, human services, education, or another qualifying behavioral-health-related field. Experience working with children, adolescents, foster-care populations, or individuals with behavioral health needs is strongly preferred. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavior management, and child development is preferred. Ability to engage children and adolescents who may demonstrate resistance, aggression, emotional dysregulation, or difficulty trusting adults. Strong written communication, time-management, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently while remaining responsive to supervisors and the treatment team. Must have reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver's license, and current automobile insurance. Must be willing to travel up to 50 miles within the Austin area and surrounding communities. Must successfully complete required background checks and screenings. Must have access to a reliable computer, smartphone, and internet connection. Availability Requirements Must have consistent evening and weekend availability. Must be able to schedule client appointments in advance and maintain a dependable weekly caseload. Must be willing to provide services in person in foster homes, group homes, and other approved settings. Preferred Qualifications At least one year of experience providing behavioral health, case management, mentoring, skills training, or child-welfare services. Experience working with Medicaid documentation and billing requirements. Experience serving children in foster care, residential treatment centers, or group-home settings.
