Behavioral Therapist - Special Needs & Disabilities Knot Your Problem Therapies is growing—and we're expanding our services to better serve individuals with special needs and disabilities! We are seeking qualified Behavioral Therapists to join our growing team and provide behavioral support services to individuals with special needs and disabilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area . This is an opportunity to become part of a company built around one simple idea: The client comes first. About Knot Your Problem Therapies For more than 16 years , our founder has worked directly with individuals with special needs and disabilities as a Licensed Massage Therapist. Over those years, we've had the privilege of working with individuals with a wide range of diagnoses and needs, including: Autism Down Syndrome Cerebral Palsy Angelman Syndrome ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease Brain injuries Neurological conditions Developmental disabilities Other complex special needs That experience has taught us something important: Special-needs care isn't simply about treating a diagnosis. It's about serving the person. We are now expanding Knot Your Problem Therapies into additional therapeutic services so that we can continue providing meaningful support to the individuals and families we serve. The Opportunity We are looking for compassionate, professional, and dependable Behavioral Therapists who have the credentials and experience necessary to provide behavioral support. Services may be provided in the client's home or other appropriate community settings, depending on the individual's needs and authorized services.
This position may include:
Providing behavioral support to individuals with special needs and disabilities Implementing individualized behavioral strategies and support plans Helping individuals develop and maintain appropriate behavioral, social, communication, and daily-living skills Supporting increased independence and quality of life Working collaboratively with clients, families, caregivers, and other professionals Documenting services accurately and timely Collecting and maintaining required data and documentation Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality Providing consistent, reliable services based on the individual's needs Minimum Qualifications To qualify for this position, you must meet both of the following requirements: 1. You must be one of the following: (i) A psychologist licensed in accordance with Texas Occupations Code Chapter 501 ; (ii) A provisional license holder licensed in accordance with Texas Occupations Code Chapter 501 ; (iii) A psychological associate licensed in accordance with Texas Occupations Code Chapter 501 ; (iv) A clinical social worker licensed in accordance with Texas Occupations Code Chapter 505 ; (v) A licensed professional counselor licensed in accordance with Texas Occupations Code Chapter 503 ; or (vi) A behavior analyst certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) . AND 2. You must have received training in behavioral support OR have experience providing behavioral support. Candidates must be able to provide verification of applicable credentials, licensure, certification, training, and/or experience as required. I've had the privilege of working with people and families through some incredibly difficult circumstances. I've seen the challenges—but I've also seen the victories. Sometimes progress is enormous.
