Addresses client problems in the context of family relationships; helps clients develop ways to recognize and change behavior patterns. Works with individuals, couples or families.

Clinical Therapist Position Overview:
Clinical Therapists report to the Clinical Director and deliver specialized trauma-focused mental health services and evidence-based treatment to children and their non-offending caregivers.
Education & Licensure:
Master's degree required in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field Licensure as an independent mental health professional (e.g., LPC, LMFT, or LCSW) is required.
Experience & Knowledge Requirements:
Experience working with children, adolescents, and caregivers Proficiency in providing counseling services for youth, including the facilitation of caregiver involvement in the treatment process Demonstrated strong collaborative skills in working with a team of professionals Comprehensive understanding of adult and child development theories and child abuse dynamics Experiences with, or a strong desire to be trained in, trauma-focused, evidence-based practices, such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Spanish fluency is advantageous, though not obligatory Must be in good standing with the State Licensing Board and any group membership affiliations
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Deliver evidence-based, trauma-focused clinical interventions for children, adolescents and their caregivers impacted by child abuse. Conduct evidence-based assessments and implement trauma-focused treatment plans, ensuring high-quality care. Provide crisis intervention services as needed. Ensure timely and proper documentation of services. Participate in internal and external supervision, peer review, and consultation as required. Be available at least 2 evenings per week, depending on need. Participate in ongoing training, case review, and staffing meetings. Maintain ongoing communication with Family Advocate assigned to clients. Adhere to the CAC's Mental Health Program Policies & Procedures. Provide court testimony related to mental health services cases, as required. Collaborate with law enforcement, Child Protective Services, District Attorney's Office, and others as part of a multidisciplinary team.
