$62,000.00-$80,000.00 per year based on education and experience

JOB/POSITION OVERVIEW

The Primary Therapist is responsible for providing individual, group and family therapy with students assigned to a caseload of 7 students/clients. Provides the appropriate application of all clinical interventions, treatment programming and clinical care for assigned cases. Conducts initial assessments, treatment planning, ongoing case management, discharge planning and aftercare development on cases assigned. Documents treatment interventions and results in medical record on a timely basis. Assist with the appropriate and ongoing training of direct care staff working with assigned team(s). Participates in the multi-disciplinary case conference meetings and coordinates ongoing treatment on assigned teams. Attends to resident, families, and referral source concerns as well as providing timely reports on treatment obstacles and progress. Assists the Director of Clinical and Residential Services in the development, implementation and monitoring of the Elevations RTC Adolescent Program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field. Must be licensed by the State of Utah as an LCSW, LMFT or CMHC or licensed as certified professional (AMFT, CSW, ACMHC) working toward licensure.

Training and Experience:

Experience and training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Family Systems approaches are preferred. These trainings will be financed by the employer upon hire if needed. Strong clinical skills in intervention techniques of individual, group and family therapy in working with patients and their families. A working knowledge of educational, psychological, family and social work systems as related to special education and behavior treatment. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have at least intermediate level PC skills.

Physical Demands:

Must have ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift and grasp. Should be able to run a distance of 400 meters in 2 minutes or less. Must be able to perceive the attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature and/or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips. Possesses the ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, sometimes quickly and loudly. Hearing to perceive the nature of sounds with no less than 40 db loss @ Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction; ability to perceive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discrimination's in sound. Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers. Be able to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and to be able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work requires a minimum standard of visual acuity with or without correction that will enable people in the role to complete administrative and clerical tasks and visually observe Students on the unit and in therapeutic activities.
