Family Restoration Services (FRS) provides an array of services to emotionally disabled youth requiring supportive services to stabilize in their own homes. Family Restoration seeks to restore optimal health to the body, mind, and spirit. In this respect, our mission is to offer youth and families restorative counsel to repair dysfunctional homes, build healthy familial relationships, and to curb negative behaviors and attitudes through fitness and nutritional activities, therapeutic interventions and community partnering. FRS believes each child deserves an opportunity to be involved in something he/she enjoys, explore talents and dreams and to gain passion for life and living through achieving excellence. FRS sets a standard for participation in various activities that allows youth access to social and recreational opportunities, with same age, non- disabled peers. Youth are escorted into natural settings with a therapeutic agent who experientially teaches discipline, self-control, respect for authority, positive peer relations, and life-saving lessons only gained through these types of real life experiences. FRS employs highly competent and skilled individuals that believe in success and motivational concepts that encourage achievement in every relevant environment of a child's life. We are seeking Equine Therapeutic Support Specialists to escort and support emotionally challenged youth participating in equine-assisted psychotherapy . Specialists will ensure a safe and therapeutic experience by staying with the youth, monitoring their interactions, and redirecting behavior as needed . This is a part-time independent contractor role, with specialists assigned 5 to 20 hours per month per youth. Qualified candidates must be available every Tuesday from 12 PM to 6 PM to accompany clients to equine therapy sessions at a horse stable . Candidates should be comfortable around horses and capable of providing behavioral support in a variety of settings, including clients' homes and community environments. Strong clinical judgment is required to address potential challenges in high-risk situations. Prior experience working with children with autism and supporting therapeutic interventions is preferred.

Responsibilities and Duties include:

Provide direct supervision, monitoring and behavior intervention to emotionally challenged youth; Provide supportive counseling, motivational training and encouragement to emotionally disturbed youth in effort to meet stated goals; Apply therapeutic interventions to deescalate behaviors to keep consumers safe, Complete required documentation on youth's progression toward stated goals; Provide feedback, as needed, to parents, referral sources, and related providers, Assess youth's progression and need for change in individualized service/fitness plan to reach optimal results

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Services field with one year experience working with emotionally/behaviorally challenged youth or equivalent experience.

Problem Solving - Quickly identifies and resolves behavioral challenges; effectively analyzes situations and applies appropriate interventions to support youth in therapeutic environments. Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and supportively when guiding youth in equine-assisted psychotherapy; actively listens, clarifies information, and responds appropriately to behavioral needs. Written Communication - Documents observations and behavioral progress concisely; adapts writing style to meet reporting requirements; reads and interprets case notes and therapy guidelines effectively. Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes client needs and ensures a structured, safe, and therapeutic experience; manages time efficiently to coordinate escorting services and behavioral support. Work Environment Exposure to horse stables and equine therapy settings , with direct interaction with horses and youth in therapeutic sessions. Exposure to community environments , including clients' homes and various settings where therapeutic supervision is required. Possible exposure to challenging behaviors , requiring careful behavioral management and redirection.
