2988840402-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Columbia Mental Health in Washington, DC seeks a dedicated Mental Health Therapist to provide individual, group, and family therapy for diverse patient populations. In this role, you will conduct diagnostic assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and collaborate closely with psychiatrists, nurses, and case managers to deliver holistic care. You'll maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in case conferences and quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Provide individual, group, and when appropriate family psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities tailored to patient needs. Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, formulate DSM-5 diagnoses, and collaboratively develop measurable treatment plans. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment interventions, and document all clinical services in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner. Perform crisis intervention, including suicide and violence risk assessments, safety planning, and coordination of higher levels of care when necessary. Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other professionals through case conferences and interdisciplinary treatment team meetings. Coordinate care with external providers, community agencies, and natural supports to promote continuity of care and holistic treatment. Maintain strict adherence to professional ethics, HIPAA regulations, and organizational policies, ensuring patient confidentiality and informed consent. Participate in regular clinical supervision, case consultation, and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and maintain licensure. Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and trauma-informed clinic culture that supports innovation, staff well-being, and high-quality patient outcomes.
