DescriptionPosition Summary The Case Manager serves as the primary advocate and service coordinator for an assigned caseload of residents detained under 90-day and 180-day involuntary civil commitment orders (RCW 71.05). The Case Manager completes psychosocial assessments, develops individualized service and discharge plans, and coordinates with courts, Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs), families, and community providers to support residents' transition back to the community. This is a full-time position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Complete psychosocial assessments and develop individualized service and discharge plans for assigned residents. Coordinate with courts, Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs), the county or regional Behavioral Health Administrative Services Organization (BH-ASO), families, and community providers throughout the commitment period. Facilitate access to community resources — housing, income supports, employment, treatment, and other services — in preparation for discharge or transition to a less restrictive alternative under

RCW 71.05.365.

Attend and provide documentation for probable cause hearings, commitment review hearings, and treatment team meetings. Monitor resident progress toward individualized treatment goals; update case records and discharge plans accordingly. Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling to residents as needed. Serve as a liaison between residents, families, legal representatives, and the interdisciplinary treatment team. Maintain accurate and timely case documentation consistent with

behavioral health agency standards. Minimum Qualifications — Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related human services field required; Master's degree preferred. Prior experience in case management, discharge planning, or behavioral health services strongly preferred. Required Licenses and Certifications Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor (AAC) registration through the Department of Health, or an existing Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation under

(required at or shortly after hire, per facility policy). Clearance of a Washington State Patrol (WSP) background check per chapter 43.43 RCW. Valid Washington State driver's license may be required for community-based coordination and transport-related duties. Preferred Qualifications Existing Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation or licensure (e.g., LSWAIC, LMHCA, LICSW, LMHC). Experience coordinating care for individuals involved in the civil commitment, corrections, or crisis-response systems. Bilingual (Spanish or another language relevant to the served population) is a plus. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Primarily office- and unit-based work within a secure facility; requires the ability to move throughout the facility and, at times, travel locally for court hearings or community coordination; may involve exposure to unpredictable or aggressive behavior.

Pay:

$45.00 - $66.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 36.0 per week
