Job Summary The Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing comprehensive behavioral health services to individuals in both community and correctional settings. This position involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating individual and group counseling, and coordinating care. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and the ability to adapt effectively across diverse environments. Candidate MUST be comfortable working in a jail setting and around inmates. What you'll do

Clinical Services:

• Conduct mental health assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk assessments for individuals in both office and jail settings.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and discharge plans.
• Provide individual, group, and crisis counseling to clients with mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders.
• Maintain appropriate clinical documentation in compliance with agency, state, and federal standards.

Collaboration and Coordination:

• Work closely with jail staff, probation officers, case managers, and other community partners to coordinate services and ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.
• Provide consultation and support to correctional personnel regarding inmate mental health needs and crisis situations.

Crisis Intervention:

• Respond to mental health crises within the jail and office settings, performing suicide risk assessments and coordinating emergency care as needed.
• Develop and implement safety and stabilization plans for at-risk individuals.

Administrative and Compliance:

• Maintain accurate and timely records in the electronic health record system.
• Follow all confidentiality, ethical, and legal guidelines, including HIPAA and correctional facility policies.
• Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and quality improvement activities. Basic qualifications

Education:

Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field required.

Licensure:

LMHC, LICSW, LMFT, or Associate license

Experience:

o Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health or substance use treatment preferred. o Experience working in correctional or forensic settings preferred.

Skills:

o Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills. o Excellent communication and de-escalation abilities. o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-stress environments. o Cultural competency and trauma-informed care approach. Preferred qualifications Background in social work or clinical counseling. Experience working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those facing PTSD. Familiarity with telehealth practices and outpatient clinic experience. Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques such as applied behavior analysis and grief counseling.
