Job Description

Who We Are At Blackbird Psychotherapy, LLC, we believe that when kids thrive, families and communities do too. We're a small, growing group practice in Janesville, WI on a mission to support the mental health of children of all ages and their most important adults through therapeutic treatment, education, and meaningful connection. We're a team that takes our work seriously and ourselves a little less so. We lead with curiosity, show up with playfulness, and genuinely care about growing together. Collaboration isn't just a value on our wall, it's how we actually operate. We're looking for someone who shares our vision of a world where every child and family has the tools and support to nurture resilience, healing, and personal growth. Who You Are You're a warm, skilled clinician who genuinely loves working with kids. Something about a 9-year-old finally putting words to a big feeling or a teenager who lets their guard down for the first time, fills your cup rather than draining it. You thrive with children and adolescents aged 5 to 18, and you know how to build trust with the adults in their lives too. You're organized, efficient, and comfortable managing your caseload independently. You stay on top of your documentation, keep your treatment plans thoughtful and current, and don't need someone looking over your shoulder to do great work. You bring both clinical skill and genuine warmth to every session, and you understand that ethical, boundaried care is the foundation everything else is built on. You love animals and understand the powerful role they can play in building connection and comfort. Our practice incorporates a therapy dog and we're looking for someone who is comfortable with a 4-legged colleague on-site (please note, you are not expected to practice Animal Assisted Therapy).
You probably have:
A Master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology from an accredited program A valid Wisconsin license to provide therapy (LPC-IT, LPC, LMFT, or LCSW) At least two years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families Knowledge of evidence-based and trauma-informed practices Experience with diverse populations and families navigating high stress Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills The ability to pass a background check This position starts part-time with a clear path to full-time as your caseload grows, making it a great fit for someone looking to build something sustainable rather than jump into the deep end all at once. Sessions are offered both in-person and via telehealth, giving you flexibility in how you serve your clients. You get to set your own schedule and will be provided with a furnished office and a laptop. You'll also have the support of group consultation twice a month, because great clinicians know that good work doesn't happen in isolation. If you're a clinician who leads with heart, shows up with purpose, and wants to be part of a team that genuinely walks the talk, we'd love to meet you. How to Apply Send your cover letter and resume to Alicia at alicia@blackbird-psychotherapy.com. We can't wait to hear from you.
Pay:
$35,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
