A Family or Behavioral Therapist works with clients who need help dealing with emotional disorders or problems with family and relationships. Addresses client problems in the context of family relationships; helps clients develop ways to recognize and change behavior patterns. Works with individuals, couples or families.
Provides mental health treatment services for individuals, families, or groups. Maintains a minimum of 75 percent of time in direct service provision.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION
Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field from an accredited school with 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience required for outpatient therapist position.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION
Must hold a valid license/certification in the State of Wisconsin to practice counseling, social work or Marriage and Family Therapy or be eligible for licensure.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION
None required. One year post-licensure experience in chemical dependency and/or mental health counseling preferred.
