Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counseling Intern to join our team in a dynamic healthcare environment. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates pursuing a career in counseling or psychology, particularly within a hospital setting. The Counseling Intern will work closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in providing therapeutic support, conducting assessments, and participating in treatment planning for pediatric patients. Duties Assist licensed therapists in providing therapy to pediatric patients, focusing on behavior management and emotional support. Participate in inpatient care by observing and documenting patient interactions and progress. Collect and analyze research data related to patient outcomes and treatment effectiveness. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with medical terminology standards. Support telehealth initiatives by preparing materials and assisting with virtual sessions as needed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Engage with patients who have disabilities, ensuring an inclusive approach to care and support. Qualifications Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a counseling, psychology, or related program. Familiarity with therapy techniques and behavior management strategies is preferred. Experience or coursework related to pediatrics is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records management is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate data collection and documentation. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and families. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
