Job Description
Description Providing remote based genetic counseling for VHA practices across the United States. This individual will be a genetic counseling resource serving a diverse population of patients The counselor will have the ability to identify and implement processes to improve the patient experience and will have an opportunity to participate in educational and research initiatives. Ordering genetic testing and returning genetic test results. Documentation in VA EHR Care coordination with VA Providers Telehealth delivery via VA Virtual Video Connect (VVC) Approximately 50-60% of new consultations are for personal/family history of cancer. Of the remaining 40-50% of consultations, there are a wide range of common adult genetics indications, including (in descending order of frequency): Cardiogenetics, Preconception (primarily carrier screening), Neurogenetics, Endocrinology/Infertility, Connective Tissue Disorders, Hematology, and others.
Additional Skills & Qualifications Requirements:
3+ years previous genetic counseling experience preferred Multistate licensure is preferred telemedicine experience VA/Federal healthcare experience Comfortable with EHR documentation Remote work Capable Strong patient communication skillsNote:
Contractors can only see patients (remotely) from facilities in state(s) where they hold an active license. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
