About Wolfson Children's Hospital Wolfson Children's Hospital is the only children's hospital in the region, and is ranked by U.S. News & World Report among the best children's hospitals in the U.S. We're a part of Baptist Health, which is recognized as a top place to work in health care and features several centers of excellence, including Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baptist Heart Hospital, Baptist Neurological Institute and Wolfson Children's Hospital. Baptist Health is hiring a Community Health Educator to join Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. This is a part-time opportunity. The Community Health Educator plans and implements community health prevention programs and events. Responsibilities include public speaking, serving as a community education facilitator, supporting child passenger safety initiatives, and assisting with event planning. This role provides educational programs and services to various audiences, researches and implements best practices in education, and represents Safe Kids, THE PLAYERS Center for Child Health, and Wolfson Children's Hospital throughout the community.
Community Health Educator Job Responsibilities:
Provide educational programs and services to employees, community members, patients, and family members Research best practices in health education and implement innovative educational approaches Tailor educational content to meet the needs of diverse audiences and learning environments Deliver education in a culturally aware manner Assist with planning and coordinating community health events and educational programs Provide education and support at community outreach events and classes Participate in community coalitions, meetings, and workgroups to promote health and safety initiatives Serve as a lead representative at community events and activities when appropriate Assist with reporting, record keeping, and program documentation Support child passenger safety programs, car seat education, and community safety initiatives
Community Health Educator Experience:
Event Planning Experience (required) Experience that focuses on Disease Prevention (preferred) Community Service Experience (preferred) Community Health Education Experience (preferred) Experience that focuses on Wellness (preferred) Experience that focuses on Health (preferred)
Community Health Educator Education & Credential Requirements:
