30701 Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills. Educates patients on the use and care of breast pumps and other lactation equipment. Participates in continuing education to stay current with lactation practices and guidelines. Other duties as assigned. Provides breastfeeding support and education using up-to-date knowledge and skills. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates breastfeeding education for expectant and postpartum mothers. Creates an environment that promotes learning. Assists the Board-Certified Lactation Consultant in obtaining appointments for the outpatient breastfeeding clinic. Collects breastfeeding data and maintains pump rental delivery and records. Distributes and reviews breastfeeding intake forms to effectively consult with patients. Refers to or consults the Board-Certified Lactation Consultant if complexity in care is noted or further assessment is needed. Documents visits and education provided in a timely manner. Provides guidance and support to nursing staff regarding lactation practices.

Pay Range:
