Job Summary:
The coding/robotics instructor is responsible to ensure that the students have an ultimate tech experience. They will be responsible to ensure a safe and enriching environment which facilitates and enriches a great learning experience for our students.
Responsibilities and functions:
General:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Coordinate STEM programs and activities for a safe, engaging, high quality program. Assist in setup - teardown of location- (ability to life approx 50lbs) Provide organizational and programmatic support as necessary Maintain a positive team atmosphere that includes students, families, class based and office based staff, and volunteers Execute an organized check-in each and maintain records Work with clients to address and resolve any concerns Assist in determining equipment needs, Technical upkeep and logistical support. Ensure that students are meeting curriculum goals Enforce rules and safety regulations . Attend weekly staff meetings to ensure program quality and address concerns. Escort students to classes and dining. ( walking upto 15 min may be needed.)
Instructional:
Lead games and activities. Ability to follow guides and instructions. Deliver curriculum to a group of upto 10 students. Ability to create impromptu activities based on the student audience if needed. Plan and participate in indoor and outdoor activities for students ( includes icebreakers, academic instruction, outdoor fun time, before/after camp supervision etc) Willingness to learn software and curriculum for multiple topics prior to onsite orientation Willing to help, assist and mentor other staff if needed. Possess excellent problem solving and leadership abilities Must be comfortable in using technology. Must be comfortable with either coding, robotics, or multimedia topics
Health and Safety:
CPR training required. Must be able to perform first aid if required Ensure supervision is occurring at all times. Document critical incidents logs and reports. Supervise medication check in/out if required by campers. Must be able to handle emergency situations if required.
Certifications:
CPR/First aid training. Must pass Background check ( additional fingerprinting or other safety trainings might be required based on locations) Must get familiarized with all courses, products, and software offered at the location(s)
Other:
Excellent social, communication, writing and computer skills Experience teaching students of all ages in a variety of indoor/ outdoor settings Strong commitment to teaching and an appreciation for technology Must demonstrate flexibility, energy, positivity, leadership abilities, and strong communication skills Works well with minimal supervision Ability to work some weekends and evenings
Requirements/ Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older. Experience with kids of ages 7+ preferred. 2+ years of college preferred. Technology background / education/ experience preferred. The ideal candidate would have expertise in two or more subjects/ topics of our classes.
