Job Description

Are you passionate about fitness and making a positive impact on youth? Join our team at the Hockomock Area YMCA as a Youth Wellness Coach! In this role, you'll engage, support, and motivate young members on their fitness journeys, helping them develop healthy habits in a fun and welcoming environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Works directly with youth and teens in fitness programs under the direction of the Health & Wellness Director. Monitors the fitness area, ensuring safe and proper use of exercise equipment. Greets and engages members, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment. Educates and encourages youth and teens in leading healthy lifestyles. Provides guidance on proper exercise techniques and equipment usage. Promotes personal training, fitness classes, and other wellness opportunities. Maintains a clean, organized, and well-functioning Wellness Center. Passion for working with youth and teens in a fitness setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to create a positive and motivating environment. Understanding of cardio and strength equipment training principles. CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Demonstrated understanding of the core values of the Hockomock YMCA (honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility). Ability to successfully guide participants through an equipment orientation.
