SMDC HOSP Job Description:

Essentia Health is hiring an Injury Prevention Specialist to support our safety education programs.

Education Qualifications:

Responsible for assisting with planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of injury prevention programs locally and regionally. This position provides leadership by coordinating community and regional programs to ensure commitment to the prevention of injuries to all age groups. This position also assists with training of other health care professionals in injury prevention and with requirements as outlined by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma for an effective injury prevention program.

Required Work Experience:

Minimum of 2 years teaching in classroom or community setting Minimum of 1 year in program development

Required Education:

Bachelors degree in a healthcare or wellness related field

Position Details:

28 scheduled hours weekly Schedule is variable with typical base hours being Monday

•Friday between 8 a.m.

•4:30 p.m. Some events may require occasional evening or weekend availability Regular travel within local community required This is an onsite position; candidate must live in the Duluth/ Twin Ports area and be able to travel within our communities This position supports training and community education on topics including but not limited to:

Car Safety Bike Safety Fall Prevention Infant & Child Safety Water Safety Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
