POSITION SUMMARY

Supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Build members and the community's understanding of the YMCA's cause and impact. This position instructs members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement following YMCA policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Builds personal,?culturally aware,?and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests. While exemplifying the Y's commitment to the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility and responds to all members and community inquiries promptly.? Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.? Maintain a safe, fun, and effective wellness center as directed by the supervisor, to carry out the YMCA mission and goals. Keeps correct floor attendance records. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Must be committed to your work schedule, showing up on time, and are prepared for shift. Take responsibility for helping to keep a safe, clean working environment by cleaning and caring for all equipment used. Personally responsible for their own professional development by keeping all required certifications and attending all staff meetings. Fulfill any other functions designated by the YMCA Administration.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

1-2 years of experience working around wellness equipment. General knowledge of proper workout forms and mechanics. 5+ years of experience working with wellness equipment is preferred. A degree or certification in the health and wellness field is preferred.
