Role:
We're seeking an experienced Lead Lactation Consultant to provide clinical leadership and program oversight within a Mother/Baby setting. This permanent, weekday-only role focuses on patient education, staff training, and program management related to lactation services, donor milk processes, and Baby-Friendly designation initiatives. The Lead Lactation Consultant collaborates closely with nursing leadership and multidisciplinary teams while serving as a clinical expert and resource across inpatient and outpatient settings.
What You'll Do:
Lead and coordinate lactation education, orientation, and ongoing competency programs for nursing staff, providers, and interdisciplinary teams. Oversee and ensure compliance with regulatory standards related to the Human Donor Milk program and associated documentation. Manage and support Baby-Friendly designation initiatives, including data collection, reporting, and compliance efforts. Provide direct lactation support and patient education for inpatient and outpatient populations as needed. Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for lactation-related practices, infection control, and evidence-based care. Participate in performance improvement initiatives and promote best practices in infant feeding and maternal support.
What We're Looking For:
Active New York State RN license . BSN required . IBCLC certification (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). Current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications. Strong knowledge of nursing, lactation, and maternal-child health best practices. Leadership experience and ability to collaborate across clinical and administrative teams.
