Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Third Shift Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities. This role involves working overnight hours to assist clients in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their independence. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, possess strong communication skills, and be committed to creating a positive and supportive environment. All positions are paid, and training will be provided to ensure you are well-equipped for the responsibilities of the role. Responsibilities Provide overnight support and assistance to clients with developmental and cognitive disabilities during the third shift. Ensure the safety and well-being of clients through vigilant supervision and adherence to safety protocols. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences, fostering a respectful and supportive relationship. Implement behavior management strategies in accordance with CPI training to promote positive interactions. Maintain accurate documentation of client activities, incidents, and progress in compliance with organizational policies. Follow all safety procedures, including First Aid and CPR protocols, to respond promptly to emergencies. Participate in ongoing DSP trainings, including CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training, to stay current on best practices for client care. Requirements Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred. Experience working with individuals with cognitive disabilities is advantageous. Valid certification in First Aid and CPR is required; training will be provided if necessary. Completion of DSP-specific trainings and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training is expected or provided during onboarding. Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to client care. Ability to work overnight shifts reliably and maintain flexibility in scheduling.
