education curriculum Teaching science Full Job Description We are hiring for both Full-Time and Part-Time positions for the Educator of Community Learning Position. Both roles are posted and available at our website, DiscoveryLab.org/join-our-team The Educator of Community Learning will facilitate playful, engaging, and hands-on STEAM activities for children and families at Discovery Lab in our Science Lab, WorkShop, and Little Lab spaces as well as in a variety of settings around the Tulsa area. This position is responsible for ensuring guests have a world-class experience that sparks joyful curiosity.
Primary responsibilities include:
Energetic facilitation of STEAM activities in a variety of settings, including Science Lab, WorkShop, Little Lab, and community partners hosting STEAM Booths. Engaging guests of all ages including students and teachers on field trips, families playing to learn together, and community groups. Collaborating with the education team, problem solving, and effectively communicating. Assisting other staff as needed and having a positive attitude to support the front-line teams. All positions at Discovery Lab are required to assist with front-line operations as needed and may be assigned other duties as applicable by their direct supervisor. This position description is representative of the major position requirements and is not intended to be all-inclusive. What you'll need: Effective customer service skills. Professional communication skills. Minimum of one year experience teaching, either in a school setting or an informal or out-of-school setting. Ability to present 21st-century process skills and ways to engage with diverse learners. Comprehensive understanding of STEAM and educational topics. The ability to implement organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Effective use of Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to focus and openly communicate. Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to safety and security issues. How you'll work: This position is nonexempt regular full-time or part-time position. The typical work schedule for this job varies depending on staffing needs. After-hours and weekends are required. Moderate to loud noise environment, general office environment, classroom environment.

$16.34 - $22.06 per hour Reports to: Education Manager Physical Demands 20% sitting, 70% standing, 10% lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling not more than 10-30 lbs. Mental Demands Flexibility, resilience, reasoning, and decision-making.
