Job Description

Academic Coach LaVenture Club | BoysGirls Clubs of Skagit County Part-Time (18-24 hrs/week) | $21.65-$22.97 DOE/DOQ Not every student connects with learning the same way. Some need extra support. Some need a different explanation. Others need someone who can help them see that academics are more than assignments, grades, and sitting at a desk. We're looking for an Academic Coach who can make learning relevant, engaging, and worth exploring. In this role, you'll work with school-age youth, providing homework support, helping strengthen academic skills, and creating enrichment activities that go beyond traditional book learning. That might mean using STEM challenges, hands-on experiments, technology, problem-solving activities, or real-world projects to help youth build confidence and discover new interests. This isn't about simply giving students the answers. It's about helping them ask better questions, work through frustration, try new approaches, and recognize what they're capable of achieving. You'll help youth build academic confidence through engaging activities, homework support, and enrichment opportunities while creating a safe, positive environment where they're encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, and keep learning. You'll also collaborate with Club staff, families, schools, and community partners to help each student succeed. We're looking for someone who brings creativity, patience, and enthusiasm to every day. Someone who can spark curiosity, encourage youth to think critically, and help them discover that learning can be fun, challenging, and rewarding. If you believe learning should inspire curiosity, encourage exploration, and help young people discover what they're capable of achieving, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help the next generation develop the skills and confidence to succeed-in school and in life.
