Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HIM (Health Information Management) Assistant Director to lead and oversee the management of medical records and health information systems within our healthcare organization. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance of health information, while supporting clinical staff and administrative teams. Your leadership will drive the efficient operation of electronic health records (EHR) systems, uphold healthcare privacy standards, and promote best practices in records management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence health information workflows and contribute to delivering exceptional patient care through meticulous data stewardship. Duties Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health information management policies aligned with healthcare regulations and privacy laws. Oversee the management of electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring accurate documentation, accessibility, and security. Supervise the coding, classification, and indexing of medical records to support billing, revenue cycle management, and compliance audits. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure adherence to medical terminology standards and clinical confidentiality policies. Monitor compliance with health information regulatory requirements such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and other relevant policies. Coordinate training sessions for staff on EHR systems, medical coding practices, and healthcare privacy protection protocols. Manage records retention schedules, audit trails, and data integrity processes to uphold healthcare privacy standards. Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting, documentation, and communication purposes. Strong knowledge of health information management principles, healthcare regulation policies, and medical coding standards. Experience with EHR systems, EMR/EHR management platforms, and healthcare software tools. Excellent customer service skills to effectively support clinical teams and administrative staff. Deep understanding of clinical confidentiality policies and health information regulatory compliance requirements. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records documentation practices, and revenue cycle management processes. Ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Pay:
