Job Description

Position Summary The HIM supervisor works under the direct supervision of the Director of HIM and will serve as the central point person for external audit activities. Primary Position Responsibilities Responsible and accountable for timely and accurate release of external audit requested patient information. Responsible for overseeing the functions of release of patient information and medical record chart completion. Responsible for training new staff in these areas. Responsible for tracking and follow-up of requests for information. Responsible for timely coordination of appeals and associated deadlines.

Associate's Degree in
Health Information Science Preferred:
Bachelors Degree in Health Information Science Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation) :
Required:
3 years HIM experience
Preferred:
5 years HIM experience in working with the payer community, medical staff and legal release of information requirements
License, Registry or Certification :
